I drink a‘Wake Up Green Smoothie’ every morning, and, without it, I feel like there something is missing. I love it because, as soon as I drink it, I am full without feeling bloated for a good few hours. This is thanks to the high fibre content ofthe leafy green vegetables and to the liquefied contents allowing easy digestion.

I also feel an incredible burst of energy and clarity! This is thanks to the chlorophyll in the green vegetables, which is also responsible for their green colour. Plants require chlorophyll in order to convert the energy in sunlight into chemical energy (usually in the form of glucose). We use this chemical energy stored in plants to fuel our own biological processes.

Ingredients
(makes 1 litre)

  • ½ medium lemon peeled
  • 1/2 green apple
  • 1 grapefruit
  • handful of kale
  • 7 thick slices of cucumber
  • 1 cup spinach
  • ½ cup parsley
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of water

Combine all the elements and blend in a high speed powerful blender.
